Trey Frame: Racine

It’s great to work with people who really care about the sport of PWC racing and work hard to constantly tweak and improve their products. When it’s done right, the customers get the best products available. This past weekend Tony Vo of Jettribe allowed us to debut the new RS-15 race suits and some prototype protective gear.  This new gear had just arrived in California just a few days prior to Round 3 of the UWP-IJSBA National Tour, and Tony packed two huge duffle gear bags full of new gear and hit the road for Wisconsin. We are fortunate enough to be the first racers in the world to see and use the new gear. No PWC company in recent years would make this kind of effort for their team riders.

You can tell it’s important to Jettribe to have their riders in the very best riding gear. It’s efforts like this from Jettribe that make it easy for our team to represent and promote for them. The new RS-15 wetsuit is hands down the most comfortable wetsuit you'll ever try on. Jettribe used a better quality of neoprene known as "super stretch".  Plus the use of strategically placed ultra flex panels make the fit better and the slick graphics finish off this suit. We couldn't be happier!  Wait till you see what Jettribe has for you next. These guys don't quit!

Thanks,
Trey Frame

Hanging with the Frames

It was not so cool that the second day of the races at round 3 of the IJSBA National Tour in Racine, WI were cancelled due to poor visibility. But it gave the Jettribe crew time to hang out with the Frame family! Quality time like this is priceless!

The Frames Dominate in Racine

Round 3 of the UWP-IJSBA National Tour in Racine, WI will go down in history as one of the wildest weekends of racing in some time with heavy fog wreaking havoc on Sunday.
Saturday started out strong with Macc Racing/Riva Yamaha/Dean’s Team rider Chris MacClugage taking the moto 1 victory in Pro Runabout Stock abord his Yamaha FZR. Teammate Cameron Frame put in a hard charging effort to round off the top three in the class.
Cameron’s brother and teammate Trey Frame continued his domination of the Normally Aspirated class aboard his VXR finishing first in both motos on Saturday. Jordan McLean once again proved he is the man to beat in the Pro-Am Runabout Limited class earning 2 moto victories. And in the Pro Runabout Open class, Riva Yamaha/Dean’s Team rider Dustin Charrier pulled off a moto 1 podium finish, which was phenomenal because of the injuries he suffered at Round 2.
Mother Nature was the toughest competitor the next day with heavy fog rolling in midway of the first race of the morning and did not lift for the remainder of the day. The promoters were forced to red flag the race and the remainder of Sunday racing.  Still, Yamaha racer proved that they own the closed course when Mother Nature allows.

Rick Sherker: Racine, WI

I arrived in Racine, WI Thursday afternoon for the third round of the UWP/IJSBA National tour, giving me plenty of time to get the work I needed to do on my race skis done.  Friday I was able to get my testing and setups taken care of as well as try out the newest RS-15 two piece wetsuit from Jettribe while doing so.  It was a no brainer, that this is the suit I was going to wear come race day.  On Saturday, the threatening rains held off, and it was actually a pretty nice day other than the cool temperatures.

In GP ski, the computer picked starting positions put me on the far outside for the start.  Despite the poor starting position, I got a great jump out of the gate and went into the first turn three wide with MacClugage on the inside, Jim Cebulski, and myself.  Out of the split I found myself in second place, which is where I ended up finishing after 12 laps.
In Stock Spec ski, I again had bad luck with the computer and started on the far outside, only this time I did not have such a good start and was in fifth place going around the first turn, then third coming out of the splits following Rob Flores and Alec Hohnadell.  Alec bobbled a few laps later going into the split opening the door for me to make a pass on him in the split, putting me second place, where I finished.
After the first two races on Sunday, the races were put on hold due to dangerous conditions from a heavy fog that never lifted until late in the day.  Even though it ended up being a one moto race for both of my classes, it was a good weekend in the town of Racine.  It was great to have the Jettribe trailer on site and be able to see and test some of the new gear they are developing.  I look forward to going back to the beautiful waters of Lake Michigan and the beaches of Racine again next year.

An Unplanned Stop

On the way home from the races in Wisconsin we managed to somehow break one of the tension bars on the trailer!
We found a truck welding shop and, three hours later, we were on our way! We have to admit these Midwest people are totally nice and they can fix anything with a rod welder  and a couple of big hammers!

Chelsea Schneider's Take on Racine

The IJSBA National Tour races in Racine, Wisconsin this past weekend provided not only a lot of action, but also a lot of surprises. Some of the biggest names in racing showed up including Chris MacClugage, Dustin Farthing, Rick Sherker, Josh Block, Yimmy Cebulski, and the Frame brothers just to name a few. All the racers put on some great performances to keep the spectators who came to see the volleyball matches in shock and awe.
The weather conditions definitely kept the racers alert and on edge. The chilly weather and the cold temperatures of Lake Michigan were an unwelcomed experience for many of the southern racers and Jettribe was busy selling tour coats and sweatshirts to freezing cold racers and fans. The huge waves also made racing interesting and unpredictable so that speed did not necessarily determine who would win the race, but rather who could negotiate the swells more accurately.
On Sunday morning the fog rolled in thick and heavy, postponing the races temporarily. The fog subsided a little bit and the racing staff got two races into the books before the officials cleared the race course because the fog had come back, making it impossible to see the back straightaway.
The Jettribe Team had a mixed weekend of successes and disappointments. Rick Sherker took 2nd place overall in both Pro-Am Ski GP and Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec. Bill Haig took 5th place overall in Pro-Am Ski GP. Josh Block took 8th place overall in Pro-Am Ski GP after dealing with some boat issues on Saturday but made up for it by taking 3rd place overall in Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec. Alec Hohnadell took 9th place overall in Pro-Am Ski GP, 4th place overall in Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec, and 1st place overall in Expert Ski Limited. Chelsea Schneider took 2nd place overall in Novice Women’s Ski Limited. Jason Stoyer took 2nd place overall in Pro Freestyle. Trey Frame took 4th place overall in Pro-Am Runabout Open and 1st place overall in Runabout N/A Spec. And Cameron Frame took 4th place overall in Pro-Am Runabout Stock and 3rd place overall in Runabout N/A Spec.
The team is looking forward to the next round of the IJSBA National Tour in Rochester, New York where they plan to dominate and conquer in each of their classes!
