Chelsea Schneider's Take on Racine

The IJSBA National Tour races in Racine, Wisconsin this past weekend provided not only a lot of action, but also a lot of surprises. Some of the biggest names in racing showed up including Chris MacClugage, Dustin Farthing, Rick Sherker, Josh Block, Yimmy Cebulski, and the Frame brothers just to name a few. All the racers put on some great performances to keep the spectators who came to see the volleyball matches in shock and awe.
The weather conditions definitely kept the racers alert and on edge. The chilly weather and the cold temperatures of Lake Michigan were an unwelcomed experience for many of the southern racers and Jettribe was busy selling tour coats and sweatshirts to freezing cold racers and fans. The huge waves also made racing interesting and unpredictable so that speed did not necessarily determine who would win the race, but rather who could negotiate the swells more accurately.
On Sunday morning the fog rolled in thick and heavy, postponing the races temporarily. The fog subsided a little bit and the racing staff got two races into the books before the officials cleared the race course because the fog had come back, making it impossible to see the back straightaway.
The Jettribe Team had a mixed weekend of successes and disappointments. Rick Sherker took 2nd place overall in both Pro-Am Ski GP and Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec. Bill Haig took 5th place overall in Pro-Am Ski GP. Josh Block took 8th place overall in Pro-Am Ski GP after dealing with some boat issues on Saturday but made up for it by taking 3rd place overall in Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec. Alec Hohnadell took 9th place overall in Pro-Am Ski GP, 4th place overall in Pro-Am Ski Stock Spec, and 1st place overall in Expert Ski Limited. Chelsea Schneider took 2nd place overall in Novice Women’s Ski Limited. Jason Stoyer took 2nd place overall in Pro Freestyle. Trey Frame took 4th place overall in Pro-Am Runabout Open and 1st place overall in Runabout N/A Spec. And Cameron Frame took 4th place overall in Pro-Am Runabout Stock and 3rd place overall in Runabout N/A Spec.
The team is looking forward to the next round of the IJSBA National Tour in Rochester, New York where they plan to dominate and conquer in each of their classes!
